Next Production

August 29th and 30th, Woodmead Halls

Following cancellation of our Easter production due to casting difficulties, Lyme Drama is experimenting with a different format at the end of August. As the title suggests, the evening will feature two hilarious plays with a tasty supper being served during the interval.

Your Starter

“IMMOBILES” by Michael Frayne.

Set in the peaceful time of no mobile phones, this play concerns the confusions, chaos and misunderstandings created by four people trying to meet each other whilst talking on numerous coin-box telephones from varying locations around London through a single, non-digital answering machine.

Michael Frayn is a master of this playwriting craft.

The cast comprises Linda Crawford, Pam Ladd, Jim Pettifer and Fred Humphrey.

Your Supper

In between the plays, a two-course meal will be served consisting of:

bite1A slow- cooked Beef Goulash served in scooped out sourdough bread dish, followed by a Lemon Drizzle Cake pudding.

A vegetarian version will be available to those requiring it, please specify this when ordering tickets.

A full bar will be available for drinks during the evening.

 Your Main Course

Closer to home for LRDS, the second play is about the efforts of a small Amateur Dramatic Society, in financial straits, attempting to put on a Pantomime as a last effort to survive. The director in the play has written a saucy twist to the usual plot, to entice the audience. The cast is Anne King, Hazel Cawte, Dave Ballinger and Mike Whatmore.

Both short plays are very funny and not to be missed.

Tickets are £12.50, to include the meal and will be available from Lyme Regis Tourist Information Centre. Telephone bookings can be made on 01297 442138

Please note that this production will be in the Woodmead Halls rather than our normal venue of the Marine Theatre.
